It was a chance to prove to myself that I can pick up a skill and learn it and master it. The process was more important to me than the certificate itself. The process was a journey to toughen my resolve: the discipline to keep working on a box for days until I hack it; the practice it took for me to realize rabbitholes and dig myself out of them and the structure and attention-to-detail I developed around how to approach the machines.
I obtained a 3-month PEN200 voucher as a reward for being second place at the AfricaHackOn CTF 2021.
